About Lovelace Space

Lovelace Space is named for Ada Lovelace, the mathematician, writer and world's first computer programmer.

The people behind Lovelace Space are a group of makers of all stripes, who want to support a vibrant, diverse, creative community in Dublin, full of people making great things with new and traditional tools.

Lovelace Space doesn't have a permanent home yet but in the meantime, we'll be running classes, workshops, and meet ups. If you'd like to get involved, either as a member or to help out, please get in touch! You can find us on Twitter at @LovelaceSpace, and we have an IRC channel: #lovelacespace on Freenode.

To help you understand what we're about, here's a few of our favourite things:

  • Sewing, knitting and textiles
  • Digital fabrication (3D printing, lasercutting and CNC machining)
  • Woodwork and metalwork
  • Coding, electronics and microcontrollers
  • Painting and sculpture
  • Interactive installations
  • Recycling, upcycling and reappropriation
  • Handcrafts of any stripe
